At the heart of the Clerk’s work:
Facilitating City Council meetings — preparing agendas, distributing packets, taking minutes, and ensuring public transparency.
Managing official records and documentation — maintaining ordinances, resolutions, agreements, and the city’s historical archives, in line with records retention laws.
Coordinating elections and ethics filings — overseeing candidate qualification, public notices, and compliance with campaign finance and ethics requirements.
Handling licenses, permits, and bids — serving as the point of contact for issuing permits, processing licenses, and maintaining procurement-related records.
Serving as custodian of the city seal — ensuring the official seal is properly affixed to ordinances, resolutions, contracts, and other formal documents.
Ms. Rita ensures that Wadley’s government stays accountable, accessible, and well-documented. Her three decades of experience bring stability and expertise, making her a trusted partner for the Mayor, City Council, staff, and residents alike.
